What Is Iodex Pain Balm?

Iodex Balm is a traditional Ayurvedic topical analgesic widely used in India for over a century. It delivers fast‑acting relief from localized musculoskeletal pain through a blend of five natural essential oils

 Key Ingredients

• Wintergreen Oil (Gandapura Tel) — contains methyl salicylate, known for its anti‑inflammatory and analgesic properties

• Turpentine Oil (Tarpin Ka Tel) — provides warming effect and enhances absorption to reduce inflammation

• Menthol (Pudina Satva) — creates a cooling counter‑irritation effect and improves blood flow to relieve pain

• Eucalyptus Oil (Nilgiri Tel) — offers analgesic and anti‑inflammatory benefits, plus a refreshing aroma

• Clove Oil (Lavanga Tel) — provides mild numbing and further anti‑inflammatory relief

 Benefits & Uses

• Tackles backache, neck and shoulder pain, joint pain, muscle strains, sprains, and even mild arthritis discomfort

• Begins to relieve pain within about 4 minutes of application

• Produces a warming followed by soothing sensation, helping relax muscles and reduce stiffness

• May help reduce inflammation while improving movement and comfort

How to Use

• Apply a small amount to the affected area.

• Gently massage in until absorbed.

• Use 2 to 4 times daily (or as directed), applying a thin layer only

• Wash hands after application (unless hands are the treated area).

• Avoid washing or immersing until the balm has dried 

 Precautions & Side Effects

• For external use only. Do not apply on wounds, irritated or damaged skin. Avoid contact with eyes, nostrils, or mouth

• Not recommended for children under 12 years, unless prescribed. Eucalyptus oil may pose risks for infants below 30 months

• Stop use if skin irritation, redness, rash, burning sensation occurs. Allergic reactions (swelling, hives, difficulty breathing) are rare but serious—seek immediate care if they occur

• Avoid using excessively large amounts or on large surface areas—active oils (e.g. methyl salicylate) can be absorbed and lead to systemic effects like nausea, dizziness, or in rare cases toxicity 

• Do not use if allergic to wintergreen, menthol, eucalyptus, turpentine, clove oil, or aspirin/NSAIDs; those with asthma, nasal polyps, or aspirin sensitivity should consult a doctor first
